Preferences: Taskbar
Sets the appearance of the Taskbar.

  Show me

The Taskbar appears at the top the main screen and shows an icon for each of the main system elements, such as Filing, Diary and so on. You can also display icons for your favourite Windows programs.

Top   Show the taskbar
If ticked, the taskbar will be visible at the top of the main screen.

If unticked, the taskbar is hidden.

You cannot change the position of the taskbar, it is always at the top of the screen (if visible).

Top   Use full-colour icons if possible
If ticked, the icons on the taskbar will appear as 3D rendered images, which look rather funky. However, if you are running your system at 256 colours or less, the colours in the icons would be corrupted and so basic 16-colour icons will be used instead, but they look less funky.

If unticked, the 16-colour icons are used.

Top   Show Wizards on the taskbar
If ticked, the Wizards that you have installed will be displayed as icons.

If unticked, the Wizards are not displayed.

Top   Show Modules on the taskbar
If ticked, the Modules that you have installed will be displayed as icons.

If unticked, the Modules are not displayed.

Note No Modules are shipped as standard, you buy them separately from our approved third-party developers.

Top   Show 'Quick New Contact' button on the taskbar
If ticked, a button will be displayed that opens the Quick New Contact window, used for entering core details of a new person.

If unticked, the Quick New Contact button is not displayed.

Top   Show these shortcuts on the taskbar
If ticked, the taskbar will display a shortcut (icon) for each of the programs listed. This gives you fast access to your favourite programs.

If unticked, no shortcuts are displayed.

    To add a new shortcut
  Click the Add button
Browse for a program or a shortcut
(Duplicates are not allowed)
  Click the Open button

Note Programs are usually found in the Program Files folder.
Shortcuts are usually found in the Windows \ Start Menu folder.

    To delete a shortcut
  Click the Delete button

Note Deleting an item from the list does not delete that program off your computer.

Top   If already running, bring to the front
If ticked and you click on a program shortcut for a program that is already open, the existing copy of the program will be brought to the front of the desktop rather than a new copy started.

If unticked, a new copy of the program will be started even if it's already open.
